PORTLAND — The Portland Civic Players has announced the cast for its fall production, “Guys and Dolls.”

Performances for the PCP production of “Guys and Dolls” are set for Friday-Sunday, Nov. 3-5 and 10-12. Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday performances are at 2:30 p.m. The Portland Community Theater is located at 231 Maple St. in Portland.

The production is directed by Matt Thelen, assisted by Lynette King.

“Guys and Dolls,” a musical comedy, ran for 1,200 performances when it opened on Broadway, according to a news release. It has won Tony Awards, Drama Desks and Oliviers.

In the musical, gambler Nathan Detroit tries to find the cash to set up the biggest craps game in town while the authorities breathe down his neck. His girlfriend and nightclub performer, Adelaide, laments they’ve been engaged for 14 years. Nathan turns to fellow gambler Sky Masterson for money. Sky chases the strait-laced missionary, Sarah Brown, as a result.

The cast includes Emily Perry as Sarah Brown, Amber Miller as Adelaide, Jonathan Bair as Sky Masterson, Aaron Swan as Nathan Detroit, Antonius Watkins as Nicely Nicely Johnson, Emerson Dibean as Benny Southstreet, Clayton Rice as Rusty Charlie, Laura Johnson as Mimi and Harry the Horse, Tiffany Barron as Allison and Angie the Ox, Erin Hoard as Big Jule, Leon Miller as Lt. Brannigan, Chris Horvath as General Matilda Cartwright, A.J. Kunde as Arvide Abernathe and Haven Miller as Martha and Vernon.

“Guys and Dolls” is presented through special arrangement with Music Theater International. All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI.
